Since the Commonwealth’s Achievement Gap Law was enacted in 2010, more than 60 schools have been put through “turnaround” due to
low MCAS scores. At best, results have been mixed, yet legislators and other policy makers rarely hear from people who work or study in turnaround schools.
On June 13, join us for an opportunity to hear from students and teachers who will discuss their experiences living through turnaround. It’s important we hear from them as we chart a new course of accountability under opportunities afforded by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
