Two Important AFT Massachusetts Leadership Development Opportunities This Fall

At AFT Massachusetts, our strength comes from our collective organizing power, which depends on our members and local leaders continually developing their skills as union organizers and leaders.

AFT Massachusetts is offering two important leadership development trainings this fall: our Annual Fall Leadership Conference, and our Member Organizing Institute. Both are important opportunities to develop your leadership and organizing skills.

Annual Fall Leadership Conference: Saturday, September 28

8:30AM-2:30PM, DoubleTree Westborough, 5400 Computer Drive, Westborough

Please make plans to join with colleagues in AFT Massachusetts for our annual Fall Leadership Conference on Saturday, September 28. Each local is encouraged to bring a team of officers, building reps, rank-and-file members, and emerging leaders.

The Fall Leadership Conference will feature a series of informative workshops to help enhance your skills as a local union leader. Please share with members and encourage them to register by September 20, 2019 at http://bit.ly/2019AFTMAConf.

Member Organizer Institute: Saturday, October 26

9AM-5PM, AFT Massachusetts, 38 Chauncy Street, Suite 402, Boston

We are seeking energetic, active members who want to get more involved in union work. Learn how to have vital one-on-one conversations with members and potential members; conduct effective home visits with members; and build an army of activists in your local.

This training is a mandatory requirement to participate in the AFT’s Member Organizer Institute. Please RSVP by October 18 to Brian LaPierre at 617-974-1243 or via email at blapierre@aftma.net.
