Job Posting: Labor Attorney

AFT Massachusetts is a statewide federation of more than 50 autonomous locals that represent more than 23,000 members—including teachers, school support workers, librarians, higher education faculty and staff, healthcare professionals, and public employees. Position opening:  Labor Attorney at the American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts.

Hours: Full Time, approximately 40 hours per week.

Duties:  Labor arbitrations, teacher dismissal cases, NLRB and State Labor Department litigation, administrative agency litigation, providing legal advice to local Presidents and AFT Massachusetts Field Representatives on various labor and employment issues, related matters.

Qualifications: J.D., member of the Massachusetts Bar, excellent writing and speaking skills required; experience in labor arbitrations and litigating before administrative agencies.

Reports to: General Counsel, Haidee Morris

Title: Associate Counsel in the professional staff bargaining unit
