Join us for the Merrimack Valley Community Briefing of the Invest in Our Recovery campaign led by the Raise Up Massachusetts Coalition. We will be gathering with many legislators from across the Merrimack Valley area as well as activists, and working people from across the city to talk about the response from our government to COVID-19 and the economic recession it has triggered.
Lawmakers have a choice: they can let deep budget cuts drive us deeper into a recession that deepens racial and economic inequities, or we can raise new revenue from profitable corporations and their wealthy shareholders, and invest in public services that improve public health, grow our economy, and reduce racial inequality. We need Emergency Paid Sick Time to protect the health and safety of workers. Healthcare, transportation, education, safety net programs, and other critical areas of the state budget need more support now, not less.
